Do you believe in ghosts?

Do we believe in ghosts? That's a question that our Professor Kinsley of English 112 class had asked all of us and only one person raised her hand to say that she believed in ghosts. I did not raised my hand because in a way people think you're crazy or something like that. But I got to tell you, I know many stories about ghosts or spirits like I call them.

When I was in my last year of high school back in 1985 a group of friends got together in Marcos basement to play with the Quija Board to find out wich questions were going to be asked in our Biology final exam and this was our most difficult exam because we had to memorize all the answer and let me tell you these were long answers....boy was that a mistake!!!

It turned out that a bad spirit came along and they didn't even asked what they were supposed to find out from the Quija board because according to my friends that were trying to get answers from this board thought it was all a game. They all ran out of the basement and were all shaky and very nervous. This all happen the day before the test and the following day they were still pale and shaking that none of them were able to take the exam.

Later Marcos explained to us that he went to his basement the following day and the spirit was making loud and very strange noises like the ones we hear in horror movies. He was afraid that he stay there and poured himself in blessed water and chased and cursed this spirit to the point that he disappeared. It even gives me the chills 23 years later after that happens even though that I wasn't present. I think in one way or another we all have had experiences like the one my friends experienced.

Soccer is the most famous sports around the world. It was not so famous here in the United States, but in the past few years it has become very well known specially because we have a professional league call the MLS (Major Soccer League).

Soccer is better known around the world as football or futbol except here in the US. Because of the passion that fans feel for soccer brings the world together especially every four years that the World Cup is celebrated in a different country every time.

The players of any team give their everything and show their different skills while on the field. Fans on the other hand enjoy every move their favorite player whomever he or she will be.

Every time our hometown team comes to Giants Stadium for any exhibition game my brothers, my friends and I get together to go and enjoy this game that is full of passion. It brings us together because I don't see my brothers and friends very often because of the busy life we all have, but on this specifically occasion we get together not only to enjoy the game but to catch up with what's going up in our lives.

Going Back to School

DATE: Wednesday October 29, 2008
TIME: 4:40 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer

Going back to school is one of the toughest decisions I ever took in life specially now that the economy is tough and things are really hard to get. I think that going back to school makes it even tougher now that I am unemployed. Even though that I am single at the age of 40 after a bad marriage it makes it difficult for me because I am struggling to pay my bills and my rent.

Getting enrolled at DeVry to get my bachelor degree in Technical Management is a big step towards reaching one of my main goals that is becoming a CPA. I know that is hard for me economically speaking, but I think is a big investment in getting to achieve my goals.

I am pretty sure that after I graduate and obtained my bachelor degree things are going to change, and is all going to be good for me because I will be more knowledgeable about my career.

First 10 Minutes Writing Assignment

DATE: Tuesday, October 28 2008
TIME: 6:58 p.m.
PLACE: DeVry Lab

When I started tonight's English class at this prestigious college, I thought it was going to be a little dissapointed but our teacher Professor Kinsley proved me wrong. I think this class is going to be challenging, very educational and fun to attend.

English has always been one of my weakest subject , since I come from Ecuador an Spanish speaking country its always been in some degree very difficult to me. I think life is full of challenges and is up to us to conquer them. Without challenges life will have no meaning and I think that English 112 with Proffesor Kinsley is going to help me to be a stroger writer.

English is the second language around the world and is being tought in every country on this globe. English has become a very important language globally speaking. Even businesses in South American are motivated to learn English.

I think tonight is being kind of fun because I get to write 10 minutes to say what's on my mind from now until the end of this English class.
