I was watching a program that talks about politics in a Spanish channel called "Al Punto" that translated to English means "To the Point". Anyway, one of the various segments of the program talked about making English the official language of this country.
This topic is very controversial among the Spanish speaking community because Spanish people are the biggest minority here in United States. I know that one of the amendments of the Constitution states about "Freedom of Speech", but to me, that amendment is written in English. I'm just being a little sarcastic.
In my opinion, all immigrants should be able to speak English. No matter where we come from, we should be able to speak the language. Since United States is our adopting home, for those who come from another country, should follow their rules and most of all, their laws. I'm just being fair.
I know is kind of difficult to learn other language different than our own, but it needs to be done because if Americans where to go live in Spain, no matter what, they have to learn Spanish. The same way if we were to go live in Germany, we would need to learn to speak German, or if we were to go to France would be obligated to learn their language, and so on. I think is only fair if we come to this country we have to learn to speak English.

Math 092
DATE: Saturday November 29, 2008
TIME: 1:00 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Today I continued with my Math 092 class and it seems I go deep into it, it get harder and harder every time. I started this class last week because I finished my math class before this one, which is 032. I think I ended with an "A" as my final grade.
I hope to get the same on this new class that I started already the week before. I took a test on chapter 10 today and I got a 95. All my homework assignments got 100, and I'm hoping to get 90 and above on my next test.
I'm studying at a rapid pace because I'm hoping to finish with all my math classes by the end of session B. I'm writing about math because it was the only thing I could think of today, as I'm running out of subjects to write about. And I'm really getting annoyed about this blog.
Nobody ever read this blog. I think, and I hope to get an "A" on my English 112 class. Well, I think this is it for today. I'm going to have my lunch that mom just served. By the way she is a wonderful cook.
Almost everything I know, I learned it from her. My expertise is seafood and meats. You'll be surprised how exquisite I can cook. Anyway, that's all folks!!!

Learning a second language.
DATE: Friday November 28, 2008
TIME: 4:20 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Emigrating to another country different than ours is difficult. Trying to adapt to a new life is ever harder. But what really tops all the above mentioned is learning a totally different language.
I'm Spanish speaking and arrived to this country when I was almost 18 years of age. That was like 2o years ago and I remembered it clearly like it was yesterday, I remember my father wanting me to watch television only in English. Anyway, at that time there were only 2 channels broadcasting in Spanish.
Even with an accent, my father would only talk to us in English. I had to go to take classes to learn the language twice a week at a local school. I had to take them during nighttime right after work.
It wasn't that difficult for me because back home while assisting high school, I had a great English teacher that was graduated in a local college in San Francisco which made it easy for me to adapt and learned this wonderful language.

Getting a Library Card.
DATE: Thursday November 27, 2008
TIME: 11:10 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
I have to do an essay based on UFO's and I have to get at least 5 sources from the library and from Internet. My only problem was that I've lost my library card a little after graduating from college, so I decided to use my brother's library card.
Now, mind you that I haven't been in a library for a little over six years. When I got to the Sunnyside Public Library, to begin with, was under construction. They were open but only a portion of the whole building and it resembled to me like it was a sardine can.
I ask for books so I can start my research paper on UFO's and ask the Librarian if I could use my brother's library card, to what she replied "no." She offered to get a new one and all I have to show her was my driver's license and I obtained my library card on the spur of the moment. I was happy because in the past was a little harder to get one.
Since they were under construction all they had was books for children and I had to go to another branch close to that one which is located on Skillman Ave. and 54th Street. I walked there because after all was a nice and sunny day.
It's a nice library and there are a lot of books, I was able to get two books for my project, but when I was checking out, my card wasn't working just because the librarian who process my new card forgot to assign a PIN number.
Luckily the librarian at the Woodside branch helped me get one and was able to get the books. I never knew how easy was to get a library card these days. You can even get it online. Thank god for technology.

Do you believe in the existence of UFO's?
DATE: Wednesday November 26, 2008
TIME: 10:15 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
I think there is a lot of information about UFO's, especially on the Internet. Thank god for Internet is so easy to access and you can find about just anything you can think of.
This week I have to do a research paper about UFO's. I chose this topic because it contradicts and goes against my beliefs as a catholic. I feel that if we exist, there's got to be life outside of this universe.
I have seen on television many documentaries about this topic and I truly believe in UFO's. Some of them are just plain hoax, but I think it's done in purpose to cover up the real information about extraterrestrial life.
I'm excited about writing about this topic, and I know I'm going to get across a lot of new information about UFO's. I believe also in spirits and kind of make think if there is any relation between these two topics.....who knows!
Maybe I'll find some information that links these things together. For the time being, I'm getting ready to go to the library, hope I could find my library card because I haven't used it for almost 7 years.

The True Meaning of Thanksgiving.
DATE: Tuesday November 25, 2008
TIME: 11:35 a.m
PLACE: Home Computer
Anybody knows the true meaning of Thanksgiving? Reason I ask because I wasn't born in this country and I have a few relatives in United States, 90% of them live back home, in Ecuador.
Even though I've been living for almost 23 years, I still don't know the true meaning of this very well named holiday. I did a little research on the Internet, but there are different versions about Thanksgiving.
What the word really means is "giving thanks", but I believe that we don't specifically have to wait for one day in a year out of the whole 365 days per year, to give thanks. We all have someone in our lives to whom to be thankful to.
We have to be thankful to God because he provides with health and faith. We have to be thankful to our parents for giving us life and giving us love and everything else. We have to be thankful with life itself. What I don't get is why we have to wait one whole year to be thankful to that special someone or our mighty God.
We should be thankful every day of our existing lives.............period.

Just playing lazy!!!
DATE: Monday November 24, 2008
TIME: 10:55 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
I think today is one of those days that I just want to sit back and relax. Even though that today is the first day of the week, I don't feel like doing anything and just play lazy for the rest of the day. I just hope I don't get too used to do almost nothing.
I've been unemployed for almost 10 weeks already. I've been searching everywhere on the Internet trying to find a job that suits me better, but there is no jobs out there. I guess since I don't have another choice, I'm gonna have to sit and wait until the economy in this country boost up a little and things start to get back on track so I could make a bigger effort and find that job I so desperately need.
Meanwhile school keeps me busy enough like to worry about a job right now. I still have four more months to collect unemployment benefits. Even though this type of benefits aren't always enough, they help you enough to get you through with your bills and your every day needs such as food and shelter.

10 Tips to Ace the Job Interview: PART I
DATE: Saturday November 22, 2008
TIME: 6:40 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
After graduating from Plaza College and obtaining my degree in accounting back in 2001, I decided it was time for a change in my life and started looking for a job.
I found a dream job while searching on the Internet, sent in my résumé, and got a job interview. I made sure I got to the job site on time because nobody likes being late.
I was interviewed by two of the owners of the company. They both started asking questions, continuously, one after the other. I didn't know what to answer to some of their questions. My hands started to sweat. I didn't know whether to sit down or stand up. I was a nerve wreck.
I thought that just by having many years of experience, was enough of a reason to get the job. I was wrong. I didn't get the job, simply because I wasn't prepared for the job interview.

My Math 032 Class.
DATE: Friday November 21, 2008
TIME: 2:45 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
When I started this specific course at DeVry I thought that it was going to be a nightmare for me just because the math classes are done in the computer either at school or at home. I didn't know what to do at the beginning.
I didn't know whether if I was doing the right thing or what. As a matter of fact the math teacher had ask me two weeks ago why I wasn't doing my homework. I replied "what homework?" and then he showed me all the assignments.
I was shocked because it was a lot. I really don't know where I got lost in this course, but I did. After my teacher showed me where I had to go to do my homework, I started doing it and I could tell you that I'm to date now.
This computerized course is a little complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be on a roll. I'm ahead in the course now and I hope to start my next math course before the first half of this semester is over.
I'm hoping to take the final exam tomorrow when we meet for a weekly class. And hopefully (excuse me if I'm being redundant) I'll pass my Math 032 exam with more that 90 points.

The True Meaning of Christmas!
DATE: Thursday November 20, 2008
TIME: 1:15 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
I think we all know what the true meaning of Christmas is. Whether we follow it, or practice it it's another story. We seemed to forgot what our grandparents had taught us, and that it giving is better than receiving.
Christmas in New York City and around the world have been "materialized" in such of manner that when it arrives all we think about is what to get and that is gifts for some or all of our love ones. It is not a matter of giving to less fortunate anymore.
Thank God that there are some organizations such as Salvation Army that feeds and offer presents to those less fortunate. Giving is a way of believing that you could be of help to someone in need.
It is also a way to fulfill our hearts of satisfaction that you are making someones life a little happier. So please, on this Christmas when you're too busy shopping for one of your love ones and you see one of the Salvation's Army helpers hanging out on the cold just outside of your favorite shopping mall making a sound with the bell they carry and asking for a donation...............give. Remember that giving is better than receiving, that's the true meaning of Christmas.

There is nothing better.....than a cup of coffee!
DATE: Wednesday November 19, 2009
TIME: 11:45 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Today turned out to be the coldest day of the year. I went out to run some errands. Boy it is freezing! I just got back from doing my errands, and the first thing that came to mind was to have a cup of coffee.
Luckily I drink instant coffee and it does not take too long to prepare it because all you need is to boil the water. I think the best brand there is out there in the market is Nestle Classic and you better believe it when I say it because when I was growing up my grandpa used to grew coffee and grandma used to prepare it. I was lucky to taste the best coffee in the world.
Every since you are a child we were taught to drink black coffee, so you could have a better taste of the coffee. Nowadays people tend to mix it with just about anything from Cinnamon and chocolate to something like amaretto which makes the coffee loose its natural flavor. There's nothing better like a cup of black coffee for a cold day like today.

"How to Land the Job You Want" by Davidyne Mayleas
DATE: Tuesday November 18, 2008
TIME: 11:10 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In "How to Land the Job You Want" Davidyne Mayleas shows us more a more complicated organizational structure.
She gives us three specific rules and uses bold type in her writing to easily identify the rules, but for each of the rules, she adds what I might call, from 3 to 6 sub-points typed in italic format which makes difficult to comprehend and follow her article as it develops.
Although Mayleas organized these rules in a specific order, she should numbered the sub-points because they are difficult to remember being that there are 12 extra points and you might get mix-up with some of them. It would have been a better idea to numbered them instead of just leaving them there out in the open.
Personally speaking I thing after reading all those sub-points makes it harder to follow her main points and in a way it gets kind of boring.

"How Our Skins Got Their Color" by Marvin Harris.
DATE: Monday November 17, 2008
TIME: 1:50 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In “How Our Skins Got Their Color” by Marvin Harris, the author uses comparison as his organizational structure. He describes the “Pros” and “Cons” of skin exposure to the sun, and depending on which latitudes we live or depending on what food containing vitamin D and Calcium we consume, could lead us to get either skin cancer or osteomalacia.
I personally lost track of the content of this essay, trying to understand it. I think Harris might improved the understanding of this particular article by adding the step by step process of organization and adding numbers or bullets to it.
I also had a hard time trying to follow this specific article because it contains, in a way, a complex diction. There were several times I had to stop reading this essay because I had to look for the meaning of some words in my dictionary. Which made it difficult to comprehend the way Harris organized this piece or writing. Some of the words I had to look for their meaning were as follows:
-scanty: adj. Barely adequate or sufficient: meager.
-epidermis: n. The protective outer layer of our skin.
-rickets: n. A disease of children resulting from a lack of vitamin "D" and in defective from a bone growth.

It sucks being sick!
DATE: Sunday November 16, 2008
TIME: 12:15 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Sometimes we take for granted the importance being healthy, until we get sick. That's exactly what happen to me every time I comedown with any type of illness.
I was feeling great Friday morning wishing it was Saturday already so I could take my Math 032 test for unit 3. Since this class is an 80% internet home activity, I had to pass this test in order for me to keep studying at home the following chapters.
It happens that on Friday night a had eaten dinner from a local restaurant, and felt so sick afterwards. I think a got infected with what we call a stomach virus. It kept me up all Friday night until 6:00 o'clock on the following morning.
I was feeling so sick that I was able to sleep for only two hours before my math class. I was still feeling sick and going to the bathroom several times one after the other. I had to ask my brother to go to the pharmacy and get me some Imodium AD, so I could make it to school and take my test. It calm me down for a while.
Even though I got to school 2 hours late because it was raining hard, I was able to take the test. I had to ask Prof. Mohamed to excuse me because I wasn't feeling good and left after I took my test. They banned Imodium AD back home because it cause high blood pressure. We don't realized how important health is in our every day life until we get sick.
Life in New York City is very accelerated that sometimes we don't stop and take a break to watch out for our health. Health is very important. Every time I get better after being down with any type of sickness I say the same thing............"it sucks being sick!"

"How to Mark a Book" by Mortimer Adler
DATE: Friday November 14, 2008
TIME: 1:40 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In "How to Mark a Book", Mortimer Adler persuades us to do writing and also take notes by marking a book. Like he says "marking is not an act of mutilation, but of love" and also "marking a book is literally an expression of your differences or agreements of opinion with the author".
The writer, after persuading the reader that it's okay to mark a book, he showed us how to mark it efficiently in the following 7 steps:
1. Underlining.
2. Vertical lines at the margin.
3. Star, asterisk, or other doo-dad at the margin.
4. Numbers in the margin.
5. Number of other pages in the margin.
6. Circling of key words or phrases.
7. Writing in the margin. or at the top or bottom of the page.
Now, I know that some of us may be skeptical about writing in our books, but I think Adler makes a good point about why should we mark our books and that is, agreeing or disagreeing with the author of whatever book we're reading. Besides of the fact that he showed us 7 basic points of how to do it.

"A Doctor's Dilemma" by James Dillard
DATE: Thursday November 13, 2008
TIME: 1:25 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In James Dillard narration of "A Doctor's Dilemma", the author describes an awkward situation, which is, whether to save a life or not? While being descriptive about the accident that he and her friend Amy had seen near Gettysburg, he doubted about savings a man's life.
The injured man had the risk to become quadriplegic if Dillard attended him. But this was a matter of life and dead, and was his major conflict he decided to save the life of this agonizing man. Had the victim of the accident become quadriplegic, Dillard realized that his career in the medicine field would have come to and end.
After all the events that took place on that cold roadside near Gettysburg, as Dillard's described at the end of the story, he states that it was a foolish thing he did that day, and despite his oath, if the accident happened today he would drive on.
In my opinion, I think Dillard was being selfish at the end of the story. I know he was just trying to save his career when he stated that he would save a life if an accident like the one in Gettysburg happened again. I'm not doctor, but I think is just human nature to react the way he did and help when someone in danger no matter what happens afterwards.

"Champions of the World" by Maya Angelou
DATE: Wednesday, November 12, 2008
TIME: 2:30 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In Maya Angelou' story "Champion of the World", she narrates about a boxing fight that took place when she was a child while working at her uncle's store in the 1930's.
The fight was between African-American Joe Louis v. Primo Carnera. The match was being broadcast by a radio her uncle had at the store.
It brought African-American together as a community. Maya's narration takes the reader to the moment it happened without missing any details.
Since the event took place when there were still racial conflicts against African-Americans, she felt as a major conflict loosing the boxing match. Joe Louis was representing as she describes, all the Negroes around the world.
In one occasion Carnera had Louis against the ropes. It was her people falling, she taught, as she describes in a passage of the story.
At the end Joe Louis won the fight. He had proved to the world, according to Maya, that African-Americans were the strongest people of the world and that had made all his people very proud of their race.

"The Fender-Bender" by Ramón "Tianguis" Pérez
DATE: Tuesday November 11, 2008
TIME: 12:35 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In Ramón “Tianguis” Pérez essay’s “The Fender-Bender”, the minor conflict was when he was backing up his friend’s old car and hit an Anglo-Saxon front-end van.
He was concerned because by having that accident, the Anglo had to call the police just to get a police report. His major conflict was that he was an illegal alien and didn’t have any type of legal document.
Since he wasn’t legal in this country, his biggest concerned was being deported back to Mexico. Fortunately, the victim of the fender-bender once the police had showed to the place where the accident took place didn’t want to press any charges on him. All the victim of the accident wanted was a police report to exclude him from any fault.
Unfortunately, the police officer that was a Chicano didn’t want to let him go so easily. By the way, a Chicano for those who don’t know is someone born in the United States with parents born in Mexico.
Ramón was frustrated because of the police officer actions. He was pushing the victim of the small accident to file a report against Ramón so he could send him back to Mexico or at least put him in jail, and that was his frustration. Finally the policeman had to leave, when there was a speeding vehicle going by and started chasing him. It was Ramón chance to get out of that situation.

"Take This Fish and Look At It" by Samuel Scudder
DATE: Monday November 10, 2008
TIME: 11:35 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
In Samuel Scudder’s Essay “Take This Fish and Look At It”, the writer showed us Professor Agassiz’s teaching method, which is learning by doing.
The conflict of this story begins when Prof. Agassiz gave Samuel Scudder a jar with a haemulon, a fish specimen, in yellow alcohol. “Take this fish and look at it”, he said, and prompted that he would ask him what had he seen as he was leaving. And he also asked him to take care of the specimen.
Scudder then narrated what he had seen, being very descriptive in all the circumstances. The minor conflict was to take care of the specimens while the major conflict was trying to find out what exactly was the purpose of looking for so long at the fish. He didn't know what exactly he had to see from this fish. He looked, and he looked but didn't see anything new.
Then Scudder decided to take a pencil to draw the specimen. When he began drawing, he began to see new things and discovered new features in the creature and helped him resolve his major conflicts. “A pencil is one of the best eyes”; his professor had told Scudder and congratulated him.

To write or not to write.............that is my question!
DATE: Sunday November 9, 2008
TIME: 9:43 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
For my English 112 class we were assigned to write in this blog for 10 minutes every day until the end of the course. Writing has never been one of my favorites subjects while in school at least in English because I enjoy writing in my own language which is Spanish. Every time I have to write for any assignment specially this class I have to think in Spanish and translate my thoughts to English which is a very difficult task.
I wrote in the past nice poems to my ex-girlfriends or to a member of my family such as my mom, my sister or any of my brothers but when I want to translate them to English I get stuck. This is the case now with my English class. This is why sometimes is hard to start writing an essay for me. But every time I start the same way.
I start my thinking in my language and jotting down ideas for translation at a later time. I wake up every morning thinking "what I'm going to write today for this class"
Sometimes I tend to forget that I have to write on my blog on any given day, but luckily I keep a small notebook right next to my keyboard. In that keyboard I wrote in ascending order the dates that ranges from the first day I started this blog until the end of the semester. I put a check mark next to the date when I finish writing my assignment for that specific day.
Friday November 7, I forgot to write on my blog. I thought I did, but I checked my notebook around 10:00 p.m and there was no check mark on that day. I have to think fast and soon enough I was typing for 10 minutes and finished my assignment.
Every day I have the same dilemma.........Did I write or didn't I.......that is my everyday question.

A telephone's handset, an object that best describe me!
DATE: Saturday November 7, 2008
TIME: 8:05 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Hi everybody, my name is Victor Palma. I’m 40 years old, starting school again after putting it aside for 7 years. I’m here at DeVry as well of all of you to get an education and trying to pursue a career. Hopefully I’ll get my bachelor’s in Technical Management with concentration in Accounting in about two years or less. I’m kind of old fashion, but with the knowledge of today’s technology.
When I was growing up my grandma, my mother, and my uncles and aunts always taught all of us to care for others like they were our own brothers and sisters. And I had, this is why I find a handset from a telephone like the object that is more representative of me.
As we all know a telephone is an instrument that sends and receives voice messages and it's sent to great distances. When people that know me well like my friends and family need a piece of advice, a favor of any kind or just talk to someone they usually call me.
A telephone's handset contains a transmitter that transfer the caller's voice, in my case my friends and relatives, and a receiver that amplifies sound from an incoming call. Sound that relevant to my case transforms in my voice giving that piece of advice or responding with a "yes" to that favor he or she needs from me.
When I see that I can't help with a requested favor, I always find a way and at least address him or her to the right person that can be of help. I obtained an Associate Degree in Accounting at Plaza College and at the graduation ceremony I was awarded the "Citizenship Medal" for always trying to help others. Whether is a favor or a piece of advice if you know I could be helpful pick up your telephone's handset and call me!

There's nothing better than music!
DATE: Friday November 7, 2008
TIME: 9:30 p.m
PLACE: Home Computer
Music has always been one of my passions. I rather listen to music than watch television. When I was a child my mother would listen to music on the weekends while doing chores around the house. We would listen to all kinds of music.
Even though that we all speak Spanish and none of us understood English at that time, we would listen to music in English from Abba to Donna Summer and even Michael Jackson.
We'd enjoy our typical music like the ones coming from the Andes that was mostly instrumental, and at the same time would enjoy classical music from Beethoven, Mozart and Strauss.
And also when we went to mostly family's house parties we would enjoy listening and dancing to the rhythm of Salsa, Merengues, Cumbias, and not to leave behind disco.
When I came to this country I found a huge variety of music because like we all Spanish people say New York is the capital of the world because there are ethnic groups from all around the world and with them they brought their music.
I enjoy all kinds of music with the exception of rap and heavy rock because all they do is curse and send a wrong message specially to our kids.
When I feel a little down or I'm stressful, all I have to do is listen to music and it will lift up my spirit so I keep on going with my everyday life.

It is better hot than cold!
DATE: Thursday November 6, 2008
TIME: 9:25 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
I came to this country for the first time a little after Christmas in 1985. I was seventeen and I had just graduated from High School.
I come from Ecuador, specifically from a city located at 15 minutes from the Ocean Pacific. It is hot all year round. There are cities not as cold as New York City, but they're cold. I never liked cold weather that's the reason why I never visited these cities in Ecuador located in the highlands where is cold all year round.
I always say if you can't wear a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals it means that is cold and you have to cover your entire body. That was the case when I came for the first time and arrived at JKF Airport.
Even though my father warned my older brother and I about wearing a heavy set of clothing all we were wearing was besides a pair of levi's a light weight sweater. Everything was nice until we step out of the airport.
I never felt so much cold in my life. My father was waiting outside of the airport with sweaters and heavy jackets, but even with all those coatings of clothing I felt the cold all the way to my bones. I can't stand cold every since I got to this country.
On the other hand there's the summer time. I try to take advantage of the three little months of summer and I usually spend it at the beach.
I hate the cold so much than I take vacation for a couple of weeks during winter time just to go back to my hometown back in Ecuador and I spend everyday of my vacation at the beach or by the pool. And it's always been like that every since I felt the cold weather through my bones. That's why I always say "it is better hot than cold"

Barak Obama........the New President of the United States.
DATE: Wednesday November 5, 2008
TIME: 12:05 p.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
For most Americans it must be a day full of joy and happiness because we have a new president. I myself was so undecided that I even decided not to vote.
More than half of Americans were very enthusiastic about Barack Obama because the country needed a change. President Bush unlike his father demonstrated that he wasn't a good president and governed the country in a poor manner.
I hope and pray to god that things will change with our new president. Especially in the economic ground.
I lost my job because of the recession we Americans are having due to bad government. Hopefully things are going to change with President Obama.
In a way a was convinced that he would be the new leader of our nation. We still have to wait at least six months to see the results of his government.
Meanwhile we have to sit and wait. This is the reason why I decided to go back to school to get my bachelor's degree. I hope to find a job soon because unemployment benefits don't last forever and I surely hope that things change with Obama......the new president of the United States.

Voting for a new President of USA.........what a dilemma!
DATE: Tuesday November 04, 2008
TIME: 9:05 a.m.
PLACE: Home Computer
Here I am trying to decide who to vote for on today's election to select the new President of this big nation.
Even though I am registered in the democratic party, senator Obama did not convince me yet that he can be the right person for this important position.
I wanted to vote for Senator Mc Cain, but we don't want four more years of the same economical crisis.
The country is hurt in some way because of the republicans. George Bush hasn't done a good job as a ruler of this nation.
I believe he's one of the worse presidents we ever had. We are in a recesion because of him. Our troops are batling a war that I still don't understand why we went there at the first time. He should bring them back.
I'm presently unemployed like thousands of americans across the country due to the poor job Bush is doing. Thank god his term is done.
I think I'm going to tose a coin and call it heads or tail............let the best man win!!!!
God Bless America!

Here I am trying to decide who to vote for on today's election to select the new President of this big nation.
Even though I am registered in the democratic party, senator Obama did not convince me yet that he can be the right person for this important position.

Do Angels really exist?

When I was 8 years of age, we lived at my grandparents house located near The Portoviejo River, named after the city where all my family is from. The house was big and on the back of it was a small farm.
In one occasion there was a flood on some portion of the farm. Since we were kids, my older brother William that was 11 at that time decided to play "follow the leader". There were some of my cousins, my younger brother and I ready to play the game.
Our ages when this took place ranged from one to twelve. We were following my brother and we all stopped by the edge of the flooded water from the river and soon after that there was a snake coming out of the water, we all screamed.
When suddenly we felt a presence of something floating on the air and we all turned our heads to find this gigantic white and transparent man with wings suspended in midair with his hands wide open.
Immediately my brother William picked up my cousin Fabricio that was the tiniest of the group and we all ran back to the house yelling and screaming that there was a ghost.
Later we learned from my grandmother and my mother that whom we really saw was the Archangel St. Gabriel and he was trying to protect us from danger.

Creating a new study habit in a modern world.
DATE: Sunday November 02, 2008
TIME: 11:15 a,m
PLACE: Home Computer
Creating a new study habit now that almost everything is done trhough a computer is hard to do. This is the case now for me now that I went back to school to obtain my bachelor degree in accounting.
Yesterday I had my first not so good experience at school when I was taking my Math 032 class. I was looking forward to take this class because I like numbers and that's one of the main reasons I enrolled in an accounting degree. It wasn't really what I was expecting. I thought we were going to have a teacher to explain every step of the process on any mathematical operation that our professor was supposed to teach. I was wrong. Everything has to be learn trough a computer.
I still don't know what I'm supposed to do or how I'm going to pass this class. I understand if something like a business or psychology class is taught trough a computer, but math is not a subject that should be taught trough a computer because is a step by step learning process.
I'm very disappointed at this math class and also to the teacher who teaches this class. I'm going to do what I always do while in school..............and that is give my best.

Do you believe in ghosts?.......PART II
DATE: Saturday November 1, 2008
TIME: 7:50 a.m.

Do you believe in ghosts? I think this is a very important subject to put it aside in just one blog. This is why I'm going to tell you about a story about a small city called Portoviejo located in the Pacific Coast of Ecuador. This story is about a taxi driver named Henry.
On a winter night Henry picked up a young lady on the outskirt of the city. After asking were she was heading to , he noticed that this woman by the name of Ines was feeling a little cold and he offered to lend his jacket. She was glad he did because now she was feeling warm and confortable now. Soon they reached her destination and Ines gave him a nice tip and then he headed home because it was late at night.
When he reached home, he remember that he didn't get his jacket back from Ines. He decided to go back at the following morning and so he did.
He knocked on Ines door, and an old lady came to the door to greet him, after introducing himself Henry told hera about the night before and that he was there to pick up his jacket. The old lady by the name of Martha was shocked and asked Henry to describe her, which he did. Martha still in shocked told him that he had just described her daughter that past away a month ago. Henry in disbelived thought she was lying and that Ines wanted to keep his jacket.
Martha assured him that she was telling the truth, "in fact" she said "the cemetery is two blocks from here, why don't we walk to my daughter's gravesite" to what he replied "yes, let's go". Still in disbelieved, Henry walked over to the cemetery with Martha to verify whether she was lying or not. When they got to Ines gravesite, both of their faces turned paled and were shocked to see that Henry's jacket was on top of Ines grave.
