The True Meaning of Thanksgiving.

Anybody knows the true meaning of Thanksgiving? Reason I ask because I wasn't born in this country and I have a few relatives in United States, 90% of them live back home, in Ecuador.

Even though I've been living for almost 23 years, I still don't know the true meaning of this very well named holiday. I did a little research on the Internet, but there are different versions about Thanksgiving.

What the word really means is "giving thanks", but I believe that we don't specifically have to wait for one day in a year out of the whole 365 days per year, to give thanks. We all have someone in our lives to whom to be thankful to.

We have to be thankful to God because he provides with health and faith. We have to be thankful to our parents for giving us life and giving us love and everything else. We have to be thankful with life itself. What I don't get is why we have to wait one whole year to be thankful to that special someone or our mighty God.

We should be thankful every day of our existing lives.............period.
