It is better hot than cold!

I came to this country for the first time a little after Christmas in 1985. I was seventeen and I had just graduated from High School.

I come from Ecuador, specifically from a city located at 15 minutes from the Ocean Pacific. It is hot all year round. There are cities not as cold as New York City, but they're cold. I never liked cold weather that's the reason why I never visited these cities in Ecuador located in the highlands where is cold all year round.

I always say if you can't wear a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals it means that is cold and you have to cover your entire body. That was the case when I came for the first time and arrived at JKF Airport.

Even though my father warned my older brother and I about wearing a heavy set of clothing all we were wearing was besides a pair of levi's a light weight sweater. Everything was nice until we step out of the airport.

I never felt so much cold in my life. My father was waiting outside of the airport with sweaters and heavy jackets, but even with all those coatings of clothing I felt the cold all the way to my bones. I can't stand cold every since I got to this country.

On the other hand there's the summer time. I try to take advantage of the three little months of summer and I usually spend it at the beach.

I hate the cold so much than I take vacation for a couple of weeks during winter time just to go back to my hometown back in Ecuador and I spend everyday of my vacation at the beach or by the pool. And it's always been like that every since I felt the cold weather through my bones. That's why I always say "it is better hot than cold"

Creo también que es mejor el calor que el frío, ya que con el calor se puede disfrutar de mejor manera las actividades del día, los paseos, etc., en cambio el frío impide realizar muchas actividades.
